Urgent appeal - Barmouth 12th - 19th AprilA member of the planned Cooks Team for the retreat has had to pull out for personal reasons. It means that the Housekeeping Team is now down to 2. We desperately could do with a third person. We are appealing to you and to anyone you know (whether CLC member or not) to join our team and provide a service for up to 15 pilgrims and their guides participating in the retreat in the beautiful surroundings of Barmouth. If need be, we will be happy to help with travel expenses. If you or someone you know is inclined to help please let us know via email.

Live Simply40 years ago in 1967, Pope Paul VI issued his encyclical 'On the Development of Peoples' ('Populorum Progressio'), one of the most important social documents issued since Vatican II. Its teaching about the growing poverty and injustice of the developing world is still loud and clear today as it was then. A number of organisations and groups, including the Christian Life Community, have signed up to the livesimply project to re-visit this encyclical in its 40th anniversary year to celebrate, reflect and take action to work for justice. CAFOD have produced an action pack of materials for communities, parishes and other groups to use. We have produced our own booklet, using the reflections from the livesimply pack, so that CLC members can more easily have access to the material and participate in the project, if they wish to do so. The material may be used for individual prayer or for sharing at CLC group meetings. The attached document is a briefing paper prepared giving some of the background to the Live Simply project.
Refreshing SpringsA report produced by CLC to encourage discernment on where CLC in England and Wales is going. Issue 1 (184 kB) and Issue 2 (672 kB) are both available for download.
